Summer League 2010

Summer League Start Date

The Summer League start date has now been confirmed for Thursday 17th June.

There are two groups of seven and two group of eight - the top four teams from each group will go to the last 16 Knock out stage of the competition.

Note: Due to time/date restraints

NO postponements are permitted!!

Prize money will be split up as follows :-

Winners of each group will get £50, runners up £25 and third placed teams £15.

All matches to be played under World Rules.

Each match consists of four singles, best of three frames and two doubles*, one frame only.
* Doubles will be played to the Dutch Doubles format. Please see rule 51 for details

The points are scored as follows :-

For each game won you get a point in the match – if you win the overall match, two extra points are awarded and for a draw just the one.
E G – if you win 5 – 1 you get seven points and your opponent gets one point, or if you draw 3 each then you get four points and your opponent gets four as well.

The results will be sent out every week via e-mail and Posted on forums – so please don’t delay sending in the result cards!!!!!!!!!! Result cards can also be sent electronically to the following email address: msplresults2010@gmail.com

Start times and league Rules as per winter League, 8pm Sharp! (except rule 33)

Hard copies and result cards will be sent out to all venues by early next week.

NOTE: Group C. The Potters is currently under refurbishment, so POTTERS will be playing out of the Top House until further notice. Please check this forum for updates on venue changes.

Summer League 2010 Results (Week 1)

This weeks results are almost complete and will be published soon.

The results have taken a little bit longer than expected to calculate, this is due to some very creative result cards being submitted, which we’ve had to go through manually and correct.

To assist us in this task it would be appreciated if you can try to make sure the cards are completed correctly, please see the attached guide below for assistance on completing the results card

Summer League 2010 – Last 16 Knockout Stage

Well done to all teams who qualified for the last 16 of the Knockout Stage.

Qualification for 15 out of 16 teams is now confirmed, as per the attached, but we’re still waiting on result cards to decide Group B – 4th place position.

The Knockout Stage format will be played out with Home and Away draws, which will be drawn out of a hat, venue availability permitting. The Final will be played on a neutral table and venue.

The Home and Away draws for the last 16 will be made on Thursday 5th August, which will then be published on this forum, so please check for updates after this date.
